Truth in Advertising - the great ice cream swindle!

It’s pretty rare that I buy mass produced ice cream from the supermarket these days, especially when there are places like Franks Pizza Bar in Camperdown that sell tubs of fresh made gelato for next to nothing.

This week I re-discovered exactly why I avoid the ice cream isle. I was suckered in by the luscious photo on the packaging only to be sorely disappointed when I got home.
Whatever happened to truth in advertising???

As it clearly says on the pack the photo is of a "serving suggestion". It is not what it looks like in the tub... Any normal, half intelligent person would realise this. For example, does anyone expect to find a steak inside a packet mix for Dianne sauce even though there is clearly a picture of a steak on the front... idiot! That's not to say that supermarket crap tastes close to as good as that gelato... but if this is all you have to fill your days with then...

yes, that is true, BUT, to get the effect shown on the advertising, {in this instance} you have to scoop out the ice cream
