St Hallet Blackwell Shiraz 2005Its Friday night and im having home made pizza for dinner – with lots of Pepperoni! So Ive selected a little Barossa Valley Shiraz to go with the spice!
Ive been a big fan of St. Hallets for some time now, their Faith Shiraz is a bit of a staple at home and very reasonably priced.
The Blackwell Shiraz is the bigger brother to the Faith and now that im cracking into it would probably be better suited for a stronger red meat dish.
The first mouthful was a little sharp, but after letting it rest for 15 mins its really opened up.
Two glasses in and im sold. Big bold gutsy aussie red. Wish I had a T-Bone right now!

In Summary ...
Vintage: 2005
Variety:
Region: Barossa Valley (SA)
Rating:
Verdict: Big aussie red. Perfect with a steak - excellent value
